the media portraying country music

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Country music.

Most people hate it. They say "I love everything, but country".

The thought of living to people sing about fishing, beer, trucks, girls, and hunting makes people sick. But that's not all that country is.

Yes, I will admit that most country is about all those things above, but there is such a variety of country songs that steer clear of it.

When the media wants you to think about country music, it wants you to think about the "conservative" activities that they sing about. But many country singers love to write songs about our world and about times we can all relate to. The media portrays country music as being very conservative by using country singers such as, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, and Zac Brown band, who all constantly sing about booze, hunting, girls, fishing, and trucks. Most people don't want to listen to these singers, and that's totally reasonable, just dont shit on all country.

Its singers like Jake Owen, Old Dominion, Bully Currington, and Thomas Rhett, who all sing about something most of us can relate to. These singers write songs about their hometowns, trying to spark a bit of emotion in the listener, the ages of growing up, Thomas Rhett sings in one of his best hits "Sixteen", taking about his life of growing up. These singers try to relate to the listener and hopefully get a little emotion out of them, just trying to connect.

  1. I'm not a very big fan of country music but compared to old country music (think Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash), current country has become worse, just like every other genre out there. I think why people dislike country music is because so much (but not all) of it is generic and unoriginal. Most of the songs in those genres are usually about drugs, alcohol or sex. But they don't seem to address that pop and rap has also become generic and unoriginal. It doesn't make sense how people can be fine with listening to our current pop and rap and only bash country music for being generic. Our music industry as a whole seems to be at an all time low.
